I wish mine could enjoy the grass, but my grass is still 2 foot under snow! ????

I’m in BC, and I so bad want to bring my feathered chicks out but there’s no grass! Minimum 1 foot of snow in places and max 3 foot of snow in other places. So there’s no chance of my chicks going outside to the coop unless I separate it so they can’t go out side for a while. Max we had for warm was 6 degrees Celsius!

my one coop is insulated, so I don’t run a heat lamp In there, don’t want them to sweat and get sick, but my other isn’t insulated so I run a lamp in that one. Currently my chicks are in my garage and my wood stove is going 24/7 to keep them warm, plus a heat lamp and a contact heat brooder! Normally stays around 25 degrees in the garage and 30 degrees in the brooder, slowly doing temp drops as they get older!

hahah! I’m no expert, but I don’t have chickens for profit, they are my pets! I do love them dearly! They helped me a lot during the hard winter with my depression, gave me a reason to get out of bed. This is my first year having them, I had a 95% hatch rate spring 2019, I take it pretty serious! I care so much about my chickens people don’t understand! I went as far as getting a little simple chicken tattoo behind my ear! ????????
