I have an aggressive rooster

I have an aggressive rooster. His name is Cluck Norris. He is beautiful, protects the flock amazingly, but with having kids and family around the house, I just can’t have him hurting people. I need suggestions!

I’m afraid if I sell him that he may be neglected or killed. But at this point my fiancé is already considering that…

Works for me. I just pick him up and tote him around while I feed other animals then I kneel down and he slowly goes his own way.

I carry mine for about 30 minutes or less when he is being mean. I also make whoever he is being mean to carry them as well or hold him for a bit and give him loves

My rooster does stop. For a week or so then I do it again. I haven’t had to carry him but like 3 times. Now he’s like oh no you are not carrying me.

Best bet would be to get meal worms and learn that being around you is positive reinforcement. Try to kneel down and slowly get him to eat out of your hand.

Catch him and hold him. Walk around and make sure the ladies see you. This should teach him you are top rooster. If not, I have thrown a bowl at mine, got him good and now he watches out for me lol it’s not my first choice but he attacked me first

Is he attacking or is he protecting? Is he going after you when you were just walking through or is he attacking when someone is picking up or chasing a hen?

THIS!!! His JOB is to protect his flock (and in his mind his future generations). You show up and steal his potential children …. that’s what he sees. He’s doing his job

A good rooster also sees you as the protector of the flock. I know because I have one. Sometimes they can turn bad. It just happens.

I locked mine up in the run and a smaller coop and let his girls free range and they are my buddies now he stays in the run cuz he’s an asshole and I can’t catch him and the girls all come out to free range during and I interact with him behind the fence he is no longer protecting shit but I do have ducks and they do fairly good job at protecting the flock at least my drakes do atm . ????‍♀️ so you could lock him up in his own space for instance and go in without turning your back on him ????????????

I second this! He won’t stop being naughty… you can make him his own bachelor pad and let him live out his days in solitude ????????‍♀️
