Help, My Neighbor Hates My Chickens!

22

My neighbor is annoying. Had to listen to her bitch about one of my chickens in her yard. I get it, annoying. I’m pissed at my own chicken, because I don’t want them in her yard either.

When we first moved in here (out in the country), it wasn’t a worry because I only had 2 chickens. By spring the next year, I spent money fixing HER fence line, to keep my chickens on my side and out of her gardens. When they made the long walk up the yard and down her driveway, I put up a new fence around their coop. Now they are contained to a 100sqft area of our 3 acres. Additionally, I placed fencing at the path to our front yard.

Every now and again, I have a handful of chickens jump the fence. And I guess that happened this evening. 1st time in 2 years one of my chickens went to her yard. And all she could do was bitch at me while I tried apologizing.

But hey, no big deal if her fucking cats run in my yard and chase my chickens. ????

I would enjoy the visit if my neighbors chickens came over to my yard. Your neighbor sucks. Sorry you and your chickens have to put up with that.

My chickens love to jump the fence but in all honesty I have just as much money if not more invested in my gardens as them. I would probably be pretty unhappy if they were doing damage to mine or anyone else’s gardens because I know how much is put in to them. Hope you can find a solution that works.

I would catch her cats in your garden, video it for evidence, then go bitch at her for not containing her cats. Your doing your best

Can you put up your own fence around your acreage?

Can you clip their wings (the feathers not the actual wing)?

Feel your pain. We have a neighbor like that????????‍♀️. Can’t shut up long enough to hear an apology… and the cats that run my property, pooping in my garden beds, spraying my house, etc aren’t hers even though she screams “KITTY KITTY KITTY” every evening out her back door.
Trap the cats and call animal control.
Clipping the chickens wings may be an issue if they need to escape her cats chasing them.
Have you checked out chicken tunnels, tractors or just extending their run little by little? Just add as you go so they have lots of space.

Maybe give her some eggs as an apology. Then she might come to like your chickens.

Well you tried the nice way. Tell her to try keeping her cats in a fence and call her every time you see one with the same attitude she has about your chickens.

Give her the you keep your animals off my property and I’ll keep mine off yours. If she expects you to contain yours she should expect to be held to the same standard. Tell her to pucker up and kiss your arse if she’s not willing to contain her cats.

So.. my horse got out today and my neighbor brought it back AND fixed my gate.

Usually it’s my dog. Seriously, I’m getting an electric net fence keep all the little monsters in Our Yard.

I am so thankful for my neighbors! My chickens jump the fence often but the neighbors see it as beneficial to them because of the bug control ❤️
