A Chicken That Grows Slower

I have got 9 chicks (some different heritage breeds.) They are about six-day old. They are growing bigger! But one of them (the brown one in the pic) seems to be drinking and eating far less, and much smaller than the rest. Also she is spending most of her time sleeping under the heater. I see her sleeping on her side sometimes. She walks fine but saw her foot curled when she was sleeping just before… Is she just growing slower??? I am worried about losing her????

First some breeds grow slower than others. Second check for pasty butt…have us put electrolytes in the water if not do that for a day. Honestly sometimes chicks fail to thrive

If its toes stay curled, you need to make a flat sandal for her to wear a few days until it’s straight. Cheap kid’s stickers, the thicker cardboard ones one the bottom, and duct tape on the top. There’s pics online.

After observing her and a bit more of googling, it seems like she has got her leg injured. She has got appetite after I gave her homemade electrolytes, and she is eating by hand feeding… I guess she had no energy to walk for food and water. I am going to feed her for a while, also thinking of separating her from the flock to give her a rest…
